Shafqat Mehmood is disappointed with the response of students to the reopening of the school.

The government recently announced its decision to reopen all schools in phases beginning on January 18, 2021. Students across Pakistan have reacted angrily to the decision, with many arguing that educational institutions should not have been allowed to open so quickly.

Shafqat Mehmood expressed his displeasure with the students’ behavior on Twitter, stating, “Education is a gateway to the future,” and “Everyone should welcome the opportunity to learn and be with friends.”

However, many students who will be taking exams soon, especially university students, have complained that taking face-to-face exams after months of online study is unfair. Some students contrasted exams and schools to PUBG, claiming that it’s the equivalent of playing PUBG and then getting recruited into the military.

Memes portraying the Federal Minister of Education as the villain circulate on Twitter. The board exams, on the other hand, have been postponed, giving students an extra few months to prepare for their exams. Let’s hope that, since students’ futures are on the line, colleges will always decide to allow them extra time to prepare. Finally, our success is determined by our own attitude, which cannot be changed by avoiding our studies.
