Haris Rauf is a Pakistani Right-Arm Pacer who plays for Lahore Qalandars in Pakistan Super League and Melbourne Stars in Big Bash League, Australia. He is well known for his fast deliveries that speed around 150 Km/h.
Haris Rauf’s Early Life
He was Bron in Garrison City of Rawalpindi on November 7 1993 and received his education from Islamabad Model College and International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI). During his college days, he was a good player of Football, but he developed his interest in Cricket when he was studying at IIUI. His Coach sent him for Lahore Qalandar’s Trials. Head Coach of Lahore Qalandars, Aqib Javed, spotted him as Emerging talent and selected him. He was then sent to Australia under the Player Development Program (PDP) of Lahore Qalandars.
Haris Rauf’s Early Career
Rauf started his Domestic Career from Pakistan Cup; he was selected by Baluchistan. In the same year, he played in the 2019–20 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy for Northern. Melbourne Stars picked up Haris in place of South African Dale Steyn. Playing for Melbourne stars in Big Bash League, Haris took Wicket-Hatrick and Five Wicket-Haul. During the Big Bash season, his impeccable performance earned him a Place in Lahore Qalandar’s Squad for the Third Edition of the Pakistan Super League. His Performance in PSL 2019 was terrific, He posted 4/23 while bowling against Karachi Kings.
Haris Rauf’s International Career
Rauf made his T20 International debut against Bangladesh in January 2020, when the Bangladeshi team was on Pakistan’s tour. Keeping his performance in the account, the Pakistan Cricket Board awarded him Central Contract in the Category of Emerging Players.
PCB trusted Rauf’s Performance for One Day games and named him in Pakistan’s Squad against Zimbabwe. Haris debuted in ODIs on October 29, 2020. Later, he played against New Zealand, England, and South Africa. Haris’s performance in ODIs and T20Is won the hearts of selectors, and they considered him for Test Matches, he was then played Test Matches against South Africa and Zimbabwe.
Haris Rauf is selected in 15-Men Pakistan’s Squad for the 2021 ICC T20I World Cup.
