WhatsApp is constantly adding new features to improve its users’ security, and it is planning to carry out a self-destructing photo and video feature soon, allowing users to share videos more privately.
WABetaInfo has revealed the specifics of the update, revealing that the messaging app has released a beta version for Android and has submitted the update to the Google Play Beta Program, taking the version to 2.21.9.3.
It mentions that WhatsApp is working on a notification to announce the function when it becomes available.
According to WhatsApp, this feature will make sharing images and videos more private since recipients will only be able to view the picture or video once before it vanishes.

WhatsApp intends to state that recipients can still take screenshots to save self-destructing media, implying that they do not want to incorporate a screenshot or video capture detection function for this form of media in WhatsApp.
The feature is in the works for iOS and Android and will be released in the near future.
