From the 27th of January, Pakistan Super League will kick-off, but COVID-19 has already spread among the different PSL teams. COVID-19 positives have been reported for four Peshawer Zalmi players earlier today, and now legendary ex-Pakistani pacer and current President of Karachi Kings Wasim Akram has tested positive. After feeling unwell for a day or two, Wasim Akram was found to be positive in his COVID-19 reports. Karachi Kings’ President is sent to isolation, and he is not allowed to join the Karachi Kings squad. Wasim Karam will enter the PSL COVID Bubble after receiving a COVID PCR negative report.
Four players i.e. Skipper Wahab Riaz, Mentor Kamran Akmal, Haider Ali and Arshad Iqbal from Peshawer Zalmi were found infected with COVID-19 earlier this week. As a means of ensuring a smooth PSL Season, PCB has revised the PSL Protocols and created a pool of reserve players who are ready to play if a franchise’s players become Coronavirus infected.
