Early Life, Education, and Career
Hareem was born and raised in Islamabad and migrated to Karachi for education; she was a student of Karachi Grammar School. Hareem then came back to Islamabad and did her Graduation in Sociology and Journalism from Quaid E Azam University, Islamabad.
After her graduation, she was engaged in theatre, where she played the role of Ms. Fatima Jinnah (Māder-e Millat). In 2013, she appeared in Azfar Jafri’s directed Siyaah as leading Actress. Unfortunately, the film was not successful commercially, But Hareem Farooq was able to get the attention of Pakistani Drama Directors and Producers. Her other films, like Parchi, Dobara Phir Sey, were commercially successful. Her film Heer Man Ja is currently screening nationwide and earning well at the box office.
Hareem made her TV debut in Momina Duraid’s directed drama serial Mausam opposite Ahsan Khan & Yumna Zaidi. It was a breakthrough for Hareem; she drew critical acclaim and praise. Later, she performed in Doosri Biwi, Mere Humdum Mere Dost, and Diyar-e-Dil. These dramas were popular at that time.
