Following an increase in coronavirus cases, Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood announced the closure of schools in several cities beginning Monday, March 15.
The federal minister told the media after a meeting at the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) that Schools to be closed from March 15 in several cities of Punjab.
Dr. Faisal Sultan, the SAPM for Health, said the decision to extend the ban on indoor sports and reimpose the 50 percent work-from-home policy had also been made. The provinces have jurisdiction over how the work-from-home policy is implemented, but it will take effect immediately in Islamabad.
Sultan stated that the vaccination process for senior citizens aged 60 and up has begun, and that these individuals can receive vaccination by texting their CNIC number to 1166.
The NCOC, which met with Planning Minister Asad Umar today, received a thorough update and analysis of the coronavirus prevention guidelines, which are valid until March 15.
