Netsol founder and CEO Salim Ghauri mentioned that his main aim is to contribute to the nation’s IT infrastructure, promoting IT education, improving IT field and providing IT education to maximum people so that we Pakistanis can compete and grow in IT field like other developed countries. Once again Netsol is giving back to society by contributing to the nation’s IT infrastructure and promoting IT education and with reference to this, Netsol has formally launched a proposal to set up a state-of-the-art IT university in Pakistan.

Nestol founder and CEO Mr Salim Ghauri who announced on Linkedin that the company is looking for a Vice Chancellor for establishment of an IT university. The Vice Chancellor will have direct dealing with Mr Ghauri and will be responsible for overall development, rules and regulations regarding students, academic staff and everything in general. As he will be the main entity so the VC will also be responsible for curriculum, program review, students’ affairs and every other primary or secondary requirement of the university.
Vice Chancellor will also collaborate with deans and other executives to maintain student recruitment, retention, student issues, degree completion and other important tasks like that. VC will also be responsible for providing trainings, maintaining discipline, research opportunities and other facilities to students.
In a nutshell this is a much-needed initiative for our society, especially given how the formation of a university by an IT giant provides an automatic bridge between academia and industry. It will be interesting to see the kind of curriculum devised by the institution and the faculty members it manages to attract.
